BE TAKEN INTO CARE

Care proceedings can be taken and a care order granted until you are 17 Yrs. old (or 16, if you are married).

You have a right to know why the proceedings have been taken, how long you are likely to remain in care and under what part of the law you have been taken into care.

At the beginning of the proceedings a Guardian Ad Litem will be appointed to act in your best interests. A solicitor will also be appointed to act for you.
