Bill of Rights Project
Suggestions from Young People involved
in the NEELB Education Welfare Service
Our Vision
We want more equality in our society.
When we were coming up with ideas for the Bill of Rights
we thought about the future and how we would like it to be.
By the year 2020 there will have been peace for 10 years
and people will be living with tolerance and respect for all
cultures in our country.
There will be more jobs because foreign companies will not
be afraid of places being blown up.
People with special needs will no longer be made to feel
different or socially excluded.
Young people will have been given and will be taking more
responsibility.
Senior citizens will be valued for their experience of life
and will be safe and respected.
Here are the rights we would like to see in a Bill of
Rights
1. Young people should have the right to be involved and
listened to in any decisions which are being made that will
affect their lives.
2. People should have the right to go where-ever they want
without fear or intimidation.
3. People should have the right to mix with others of different
religion without fear of intimidation.
4. Young people should have the right (if they wish it) to
have or take on more responsibility.
5. People of all ages have the right to be safer in their
own homes without fear of intimidation.
6. Senior citizens should have the right to be respected
and feel safe and secure.
